Meet Enrollment Coach, Cathy Zhao
Empowering students to fulfill their goals—whether they be upskilling or pursuing a new career path—is what Cathy Zhao finds most rewarding about her role as an enrollment coach. “When I see students achieve their goals, I share their happiness,” said Cathy. “Knowing that I made a small contribution to their success is very satisfying.”
“As an enrollment coach, I can encourage and motivate students and help them find the focus they need to complete their education.”
Cathy joins UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education’s Enrollment Services team as the coach for CPE’s Accounting, Construction Management, GIS, Lean Six Sigma, Leadership Development for Construction Professionals, Occupational Health and Safety, Paralegal and Project Management programs. With a background in education counseling and a master’s in education, Cathy is looking forward to promoting lifelong learning and helping professionals advance their careers.

Cathy understands first-hand what many working professionals who decide to go back to school are experiencing. She herself was a working professional, building a family, when she decided to pursue her master’s degree. She knows that one of the biggest issues many of CPE’s students face is finding the time to commit to their professional development.
“Many of our students have full-time jobs and families, so once they decide to upskill or pursue a career change, the difficult thing is determining how to fit that in,” said Cathy. “As an enrollment coach, I can encourage and motivate them and help them find the focus they need to complete their education.”
