Rootstock Workshop: Identification and Use

Learn about the history, use and identification of the 20 most important rootstocks in California in this workshop designed for the grape grower, winemaker, viticulturist and nursery employee.  Spend the morning in the vineyard learning how to identify the rootstocks based on their leaves and shoot tips, and studying the North American grape species from which the rootstocks were developed.  The afternoon focuses on the origin, history, uses, pest resistance and soil adaptation of each rootstock.

Please dress appropriately for the morning vineyard session. Space is limited. Early enrollment is encouraged.
