UC Davis Math Project Saturday Series: Unleashing Students' Power through Innovative Teaching 4 CEUs

Math is not a spectator sport. Active learning in which students are engaged in the development of their own understanding of mathematical concepts, as well as becoming facile in solving problems involving mathematics, is an essential element of good math instruction. Throughout the 2016-2017 Saturday series we will continue to explore strategies and techniques designed to engage students in creativity, innovation, critical thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration, which are listed as key components of a 21st century math learning experience. Each session will also provide collaboration time to allow teachers to examine instructional resources and to explore and develop activities to support student learning.
